About Douglas Taylor
Welcome to my galleries of Fine Art and Creative Photography. Here you will find a wide variety of Fine Art images from the American West and the desert Southwest.
You will also find my revolutionary Creative Photography galleries, offering surreal and fantastic images of a variety of subjects where I have used the light and energy passing through the lens to “paint” color onto the imaging surface. All of my Creative Photography images are created solely with the camera and are not created by manipulation with a computer program.
I am a staunch supporter of the ‘local economy’ concept and in keeping with that ideal, I offer significant discounts to the framing trade, along with interior designers, institutions, art directors and property managers. So if you are a professional looking for a dependable wholesale art source with a discount structure you can earn money with, please feel free to contact me via e-mail; email@example.com. You can also reach me by telephone at 520.401.2538. Inquiries for licensing and publication are welcome. All Southern Arizona, including the Phoenix Metro area inquiries are also welcome here.

"Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the number of moments that take our breath away"
The goal of the images I produce is to communicate to the viewer the beauty I find in the natural world, along with the emotions I feel when I compose the scene in the viewfinder. I strive to share what my heart feels as I work to find the lighting and composition that best reflects the scene before me. The images that I enjoy making most are those that will create an emotional and spiritual response within the viewer.
The beauty of Nature surrounds us. In this world so dominated by humankind it may be very small and obscure, yet other times our human world is dwarfed by the grandeur and scale of Nature. Capturing the great beauty I experience in Nature is what drives my photography. The desire to create images other people will enjoy and find evocative sharpens my vision.
Sometimes I isolate the details of the subject from a scene to create an abstraction, or use light and color to ‘paint’ with the camera, creating an image where the content and subject may not be obvious; a photograph that intrigues and arouses the curiosity.
I photograph to inspire, as I am inspired by the world that I see. I believe in the magic that allows me to create images that will evoke within the viewer a similar sense of the beauty, wonder and spiritual appreciation I have of the world around me.
The times when I can capture a superb creation of nature; the dramatic power of a summer thunderstorm, the magnificence of mountains, the brilliant and delicate beauty of a simple flower, the wonderful creations of the earth and human spirit, or the quiet grandeur of a desert sunset; these are moments of sublime magic. These are the moments that make me feel most alive.
