Title
Aspen Afternoon #1
Artist
Douglas Taylor
Medium
Photograph - Fine Art 35mm Film Photography
Description
This image was born of tragedy. The previous day a wildfire had swept through the village of Summerhaven, high atop the Catalina Mountains and in full view of the residents of Tucson, Arizona. The Aspen Fire soon grew to be over 100,000 acres as it devoured most of the mountain forest. When the wind shifted the smoke plume drifted over the city, and I made this photograph as it occurred while waiting at a stop light on my way home from work.
