Description
This is a polished slab of stone from Australia. More specifically, it is from the Archaean eon of geologic time and has been dated to almost 3.5 billion years old!
Even before I knew the age of the rock, I knew that the macro image I wanted to make of it represented my impression of the geologic forming of the young Earth. The Archaean epoch is the period from 2.5 to 3.8 billion years ago.
