Description
The rays of the rising sun warm the spectacular escarpment of Mount Whitney and the eastern face of the Sierra Nevada. It is this moment when the sun is low on the horizon that the Rayleigh Scattering of light through the atmosphere produces the warm tones which photographers call the 'Golden Hour'.
This fine art photograph is the fifth in a sequence of six images capturing the exquisite changes of colors on these magnificent mountains in the early morning light.
