Description
The rising sun of a clear spring morning warms the spectacular, sheer walls of Mount Whitney and the great escarpment that is the eastern face of the Sierra Nevada above Lone Pine, California. At 14,505 feet in elevation, the highest point in the lower 48 States, Mount Whitney towers 6,700 feet above Mount Whitney Portal where this photograph was made.
This fine art photograph is the sixth, and final image in a sequence of images capturing the exquisite changes of colors on these magnificent mountains in the early morning light.
