Description
I can still vividly remember the first time I saw this stunning view of Mount Rainier from Sunrise Road on the east side of Mount Rainier National Park. Many decades later I could still recall exactly where I wanted to make this photograph from.
The only problem is that the site is on the road descending from Sunrise Point, and it is a busy road with nowhere to stop or pull off. So I did the next best, though most dangerous thing. I took this photo looking out my windshield! It is a very dangerous practice, but I had been wanting to make this photograph for most of my life and this incredibly clear summer day was my only chance. Please DO NOT attempt this stunt yourself while driving!
This landscape mural is part of my "West By Southwest - An American Mural Project" collection. Like all of the others in the collection it is formatted in the 3:5 ratio and are only available in the 20" x 12", 24" x 14.375", 30" x 18", 40" x 24", 48" x 28.75", and 60" x 36" sizes, also 43.25" X 72" as a massive wall mural with absolute clarity.
