The Hungarian Parliament building towers over the Danube River in Budapest on a bitter cold November evening. The magnificent building was built starting in 1885 and eventually finished in 1904, 31 years after the unification of the three cities Buda, Obuda and Pest into the modern metropolis we know as Budapest. The grand structure was designed by Imre Steindl in the Gothic Revival style with a symmetrical façade and central Renaissance Style dome.
