Description
"Walk the paths of the ancients.
Stroll with the spirits of our past.
Listen to their wisdom, whispered on the wind."
- From my poem "Welcome The Light", copyright 2018.
Cliff Palace is the largest of the cliff dwellings at Mesa Verde National Park with over 150 rooms and 23 kivas. It is sited in the shear sandstone walls of the appropriately named Cliff Canyon. Construction of these structures was started approximately 1,400 years ago, and the sites were abandoned some 700 years ago. It was the first location to be named a UNESCO World Heritage Site in the United States.
