Description
The spectacular Grand Teton Mountains tower over the iconic John Moulton barn in Grand Teton National Park. Followers of the Church of Latter Day Saints migrated to this valley in in 1890's and clustered their farms and homes to share labor and community in the valley known as Jackson Hole.
Grand Teton National Park was established in 1929, and John D. Rockefeller, Jr. began purchasing lands in Jackson Hole during the 1930's to be added to the National Park. Jackson Hole National Monument was established in 1943 and was combined into Grand Teton National Park in 1950. The remaining structures of the original settlers were added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1997.
