Artist
Douglas Taylor

Photograph - Fine Art Digital Photography
Description
The ceilings of the Vatican Museum are stunningly ornate, and this detail shows the Chapel of St. Peter Martyr is no exception. The chapel of St. Peter Martyr, was built in the Vatican Palaces between 1566 and 1570 at the behest of St. Pius V. The stucco and the frescoes that decorate it, inspired by the Stories of the St. Peter, are the work of Giorgio Vasari and his student Jacopo Zucchi (1570).
