Description
Summer is the time of the monsoon season in the Sonoran Desert of the American Southwest. The thunderstorms this season brings can be very powerful but 'localized'. This means it can be raining on one side of the house and not the other. After witnessing a spectacular late afternoon rainbow (also found here on FAA), I watched this distant storm build as night fell on the desert and the stars came out over Saguaro National Park.
