Description
Layers of clouds reflect the last light of a desert sunset filtered through forest fire smoke in Saguaro National Park west of Tucson, Arizona. The early arrival of the summer monsoon brought dry lightning to the tinder dry mountain forest surrounding Kitt Peak. The resulting wildfire raged for many days and the smoke plume tinted the sunset with glorious colors. Thankfully, a juicy thunderstorm dumped ample rain on the fire and extinguished it the following day.
